My opinion of the 2 articles

After reading through the article "Abbott rapped for pulling drugs out of thailand", I think that there is no absolute right or wrong for the both sides. Abbott trying to pull drugs out of thailand, is because they want to stop these people from producing copy-cat drugs from their original drugs. Besides this reason, these copy-cat drugs does not go through any clinical trial test, nor any processes that is required before producing drugs. Therefore, this drugs is consider not as safe, and it might not appear to be as effective as the original drugs to the patients.

On the hand, those people in thailand start to produce their own copy-cat drugs, mainly due to a reason that they were unable to afford all those expensive original drugs. Thailand is considered to be one of the poor country. Since they cannot afford the original drugs, the only way out for them is to combine a few content of the drugs, and produce their own copy-cat drugs, for people in their country.

Since the drugs company, have to go through lots of clinical trial and processes, before putting it on the shelf, thus it is impossible for them to lower the price of the drugs further. The only way not to affect either sides, govenment can consider to provide incentives for the poor people in buying the drugs.

The other article that i would like to talk, is about "pushing drugs". I fully agreed with the article that illness are "created". Then from there the pharmeutical companies, can start to do research on drugs to "cure" the illness, and in turn earn money from from there.

For example, sometimes people just cannot get into their sleeps. These pharmaceutical compines kind of going through some research and realise that there is this kind of problems with people. So, they when to develop a drug to solve these people problem, and called it a sleeping pill. From then, once people cant go into their sleep, probably somethings are bothering in their minds, they will turn to these pills.

The Newspaper Article

After reading through the article, i fully agree that somtimes a new illness can just strike, and nobody knows how does it come about, and how to cure it. During this kind of crictical crisis, there will be lots of casualties seeking for medical help and treament. However, when everybody around round the world is consuming the same kind of medcine, it will surely come to a time where there is a shortage of medical supply. Therefore it is impossible for us to saves all life. At these kind of situation, sometimes we have to make decision like, who should we save.

Knowing that this is a very cruel act for those causalties association to compile the list of who should be saved first. Usually this kind of list will be those older people and peolpe who are more serious. If you really consider, do you think these life are worth saving for the society? This might be a very selfish kind of thinking, but when you come across this kind of situation, you have no other choice. Saving those elderly, cannot really say that its not worth saving. They need more medical treatment, than the young ones, since they are weaker.More medical treatment = more financial requirement.

What do you think pharmaceutical companies obligations are and to who?

When we start to talk about pharmaceutical companies, what will be the first thing that comes to your mind? For me personally, it will reminds me of medcine...a few things like doing R & D regards to the medcine that the company are going to produce, maunfacting of the medcine, as well as sales of the medcine. All companies have an obligation, it is like a binding promise that they have, depending on the field which the company is in. These days there are alot of pharmaceutical companies setting up, and almost all of the parmaceutical companies have a common aim of saving life.

However, while thinking of saving life they forget that not all people are able to afford the high price medcine that they are producing, esp for people living in those poorer areas, like cambodia.

Among the few phamaceutical companies website that i had look through, i think that this company, Sandoz, is consider to be quite outstanding compared to the rest. Sandoz develops, produces and markets medicines that are no longer protected by patents, along with pharmaceutical and biotechnological active substances. This company produce a hugh range of products, within which the cardiovascular system and anti-infectives are particular areas of focus. It does not only care about the saving of life(like any other phamaceutical companies), it also care for those poor people around, by making all these medcine affordable for the world wide.

Afterall, i think that this is a correct way that all pharmaceutical companies should be looking at. Since they want to save life, it cant be possible for them to save those rich people. Saving people is a general thing, if they really want to save life, they should put those poor people into the consideration, and make it affordable for all.

Organisations

Organizations are formed all over the world. People forms organization can be due to many reasons. These people must have something in common. It may be in terms of their interest, aim/ goals. Organizations can classify into many different types like, government, non-government, business, religion, terrorist, education, charitable, voluntary, environment, and etc...

One of the organizations that I would like to talk about in this entry, is classified as a business organization, Sunshine Empire. Recently, there is news saying that the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) has launched investigations into the company. Since the time, when this organization starts up, all their members have similar goals of earning money by providing a world wide service. At first, they are just specializing on magnetic product. But as time goes by, they starts to enlarge their services into sectors like, E-commerce, online shopping, real-estates, telecommunication and wireless internet development. Instead of providing all these services, that they should do, people outside are complaining that their mode of operation appears to be more like a financial investment. They are encouraging people to put in a certain amount like $12,000, and promise that they will earn back their money (around $20,000), which is better than investing in a bank. I personally feel that i nothing is free in this world. If really this organization can provide such a good investment for a world wide basis, then nobody needs to work. Everybody should have just put in a sum of money, and earn money through the investment itself. It seems so impossible to me, if the company can provide such a good service for the world-wide...what about the company itself? How do they survive?

Ok, I will jus say until here regarding this company. After all, from this we can see that every organization starts up with same aim/goals in mind, so they can work towards it. This company is thinking of making money, by providing services...but as time goes by they are kind of like cheating people money, by going into the mode of investment, which they do not even have the license to do so.

University Education for Polytechnic Students

Nowadays people around ... like to ask questions like, who is interested to
go university? Do u intend to go university? Do u want to go university? As a polytechnic students like me, I personally think that, I would reply
them in the sense that, it’s not a matter whether I want/intend to go
university. It is a more like a quest whether am I qualified to enter. Just
randomly ask any students around, if there is a chance for them to enter
university, how many of them would reject it. I am sure 99.9% / even 100% of
the people around would not turn down the golden chance of entering.
From My personal point of view, I always think that university education is
consider quite impossible for polytechnic students, except for a few
minority group of people who can obtain very good results. About 2 years
ago, when I was taking my o-level, I heard that, only the top 5% of poly
students can have a chance to apply for university education. Thus, a lot of
students are striving very hard to go JC, so that they can have a higher
probability of entering university. However, when I enter poly, I heard a
different kind of story, it becomes...only those who can get a GPA of 3.8
and above, will have the chance to enter poly. Is all this jus rumors being
pass around, or is it a truth?? Does the education system really have to
make it so tough for polytechnic students to enter? Only as a JC students
then you can confidently said that you are have a higher possibility of
entering university?
If that’s really the case, then I think that is so unfair ...They should not
have underestimate poly students. Although, JC students are consider as a
group of students who are more clever & well-prepared, but poly students
also does work extremely hard, trying to get themselves a place into the
local university. If you have notice, over these years, the percentage of
people going for further studies is increasing, especially polytechnics
grads, mainly is because no of polytechnics grads every year is severely
restricted. Nowadays the education system is rather competitive, all
students are aiming for at least a degree. Since after all, everybody is
moving towards the same goal, obtaining a more recognized certificate and a
brighter future. So, why not give everybody an equal chance and hope to
fight for their place into the local university (50% come from JC grads and
50% from the poly grads, no doubt whether they are locals or foreigners)
^_^.
